All eyes will be on table leaders SC Villa when they host Arua Hill in one of the StarTimes Uganda Premier League games scheduled for Wednesday, April 19.

On the same day, KCCA FC and defending champions Vipers SC, who are Villa’s main rivals in the title race, will be in action, too.  KCCA face URA FC while Vipers take on army side, UPDF FC.

SC Villa, who lead the 15-team table with 43 points from 21 games, will be out to maintain their five-point gap by beating Arua Hill at the Muteesa II stadium, Wankulukuku.

The Jogoos cannot afford after slips up if they are to end the 19-year league title drought. They have put on an impressive five-game winning run in recent weeks.

On the other hand, the pressure will be on second-placed KCCA (38 points from 19 games) in Wednesday’s early kick-off match against former champions URA FC at the Mehta stadium in Lugazi.

Currently, KCCA are struggling on-and-off the pitch. On Sunday (April 16), Coach Morley Byekwaso quit the job after the 0-1 loss to Bright Stars in the Uganda Cup quarterfinal game. The team has drawn three times in the last five league games.

Therefore, KCCA’s performance against URA will be a decisive factor in their title ambitions this season.

Meanwhile, Vipers, who thrashed Calvary FC 4-1 in the Uganda Cup quarterfinal game on April 15, are widely tipped to win at Bombo Military Barracks ground against hosts UPDF.

Third-placed Vipers (32 points from 17 games) are steadily picking the momentum under coach Alex Isabirye, who took over last month.
