The Kampala Capital City Authority Executive Director Dorothy Kisaka has this mid-morning paid a courtesy visit to the Lord Mayor’s Office.

The due had an interface where the Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago welcomed her and further shared with her his strategic direction for Kampala City as she starts her tour of duty.

The interface was also intended to know one another as they plan for Kampala as a City of the 21st Century by improving its planning in a participatory and inclusive way.

The Lord Mayor underscored the key tenets and benchmarks that guide his leadership and policy direction summarized in the six pillar of principles and policy guidelines that were endorsed by the electorate in Kampala while making a social contract him.

The same were later presented before the Authority and unanimously approved and these are;

  1. Corporate Governance and Rule of Law.
  2. Proper Planning and Sustainable Transformation.
  3. Accountability and Transparency.
  4. Equity and Social Justice.
  5. Frugality and Prioritization in the Budgeting processes and;
  6. Promoting Kampala as a Hub for Investment and Tourism.

They later toured the Lord Mayor’s Parlor and Gardens which greatly needs to be refurbished.

The Lord Mayor’s Parlor was opened by the Governor Sir John Hathorn Hall in 1949 and marks the time when Kampala became a City.
