It took 6 rounds for the 2024 Masaza cup to record the first hat trick and Irivai Mamul Mete of Kabula county is the man on blasting performance.

The 23 year old scored once in first half and twice in second half while making his goals record this term to 5 goals becoming competition’s leading scorer.

The performance extended Kabula coached by Eric  in lead of Masengere group at 13 points after 6 outing.

It was not the only game on weekend, Ssaza Bululi dropped points in a 1 all draw against visitors Bugerere at Kakooge play ground.

The game took place on Sunday 11 August 2024 saw the visitors bettering  hosts in many aspects.

Despite Bululi managed to hold the game to halftime while still in lead.

At regrettable moment arrived immediately after the break as Bugerere coming up with double changes to bring in Mike Amori and Charles Musisi for 

Herbert Abima and Henry Wamala.

After the restart it took just two minutes into second half for substitute Charles Musisi running into the 18 yard from left flank to score an equaliser.

From there, the game was on mixed fortune but visitors Bugerere at upper hand as Dan Kazibwe running everywhere on the pitch, Charles Musisi showing why he is donning shirt 10 forcing Bululi to play on back foot and count attacks.

The approach was nearly becoming productive as Muhammad Kanyike having a header hitting the post before his substitution off.

From the moment Bululi head coach Anthony Bongole switched

Benjamin Opakwoth and  Bosco Innocent for  Asaph Ssegujja and Muhammed Kanyike.

Few minutes from the  changing times Opakwoth nearly regained the lead but the good hands of Bwabye denied him.

Bugerere regained the possession through middle of the part to find Musisi in front of the goal who took a well taken shot but saved by Opolot.

Another chances arrived for the visitors and Kazibwe and Ssentongo shots were both saved before Ssentongo shooting over the bar from inside 6 yard.

Bugerere continued with their pressing winning a free kick which was taken by Mike Amori to hit 9n wall, the rebound blocked by Ronald Fungaro.

From the block Bululi forced another count attack on right side with Jacob Opar leading the attack but again Bwabye was a hero for Bugerere.6

As the game reach its final moments Bugerere introduced James Kirinya for Suleiman Ssentongo just before final whistle.

After the game both technical personnel from either side felt like the result would have been better for their sides ” we wanted to win but at least we have got a point though maximum is all what we looked for, our performance have been low since some of our players returned late for preparation but I assure our fans that next game we are going to with because we having all our players in preparations” Bululi coach Anthony Bongole said.

On Bugerere side assistant coach Yusuf Kinene said “we wanted to beat them but that’s football, the game has been good the referees were very ok better than in first round”

Having named man of the match Bugerere playmaker Dan Kazibwe insisted that 3 points was match important.

“Despite I have won this accolade we wanted 3 points, it’s very sad that we failed to collect them but next time we are going for them”

Elsewhere on wet ground Ssingo through Shaban Kayongo beaten Mawogola 1-0 as the scorer taking his goal tally to 4 leveling with Robert Ssewanyana.7

Out of 9 games, 16 goals got scored with Kabula posting the best performance by beating Ssese 3-1 while Kooki shocked Kyaggwe with a 1-0 defeat as Busujju picked the most vital result at Mawokota costing Steven Bogere’s job from Mawokota.

After match Day 6 Ssingo is leading the power rankings with 14 points in Muganzirwazza, Kabula is second on 13 points leading Masengere group while Bululi is third on 12 points as they lead Bulange group.
