Masaza Cup 2024: Disallowed goal helps to secure a point for Butambala at Kyadondo

At the kick off of the second round of the Masaza cup 2024 tournament, teams struggled to get wins to enable them progress to the knockout stages.

In the game played at Hormisdallen playground, Gayaza between the Kyadondo and visitor Butambala, Kyadondo needed a win to have early chances of progressing to the knockout stages but the game ended in a draw.

A disallowed goal by referee Steven Kimayo in the first half of game played on Sunday August 11 in the match day six, costed Kyadondo’s chances of progressing to the knockout stages.

A well taken free kick from Faisal Kyaze crossed the line after the goal keeper’s mistake but the referee didn’t count it and made the game continue.

After the 1:1 draw in the 90 minute , Kyadondo still lie in the second position with 9 points , three points behind the table leaders, Bululi while Bugerere in the third position with 8 points, Buddu with also 8 points, Butambala with 7 points and defending champions Bulemezi seat on the bottom with 4 points from six games .

Kyadondo’s next game is away to Butambala and it’s a must win to enable them progress to the next level.
