The former Uganda Cranes coach, the ‘Serbian national Micho has reportedly been appointed Libya head coach, signed a two-year employment contract with the North African nation.
The Serbian tactician comes in as a direct replacement for Libyan native Salem Al-Jalali, who has been in the position on the interim basis for the past months.
The developments come just a month since Micho was sacked from the same role in Uganda, having endured an unpleasant spell of results.
Micho’s immediate task with Libya will be to guide the country through the forthcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
They visit Eswatini on November 13 before hosting Cameroon a week later for their first qualification matches in Group D.
It should be noted that Micho’s contract in his second spell with the Uganda Cranes was terminated in September, after a failed 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying campaign.
Meanwhile, in his first stint that spelled from 2013-2017, he guided Uganda the her first ever AFCON finals in 38 years.
The 54 year-old has previously coached at Sudan’s Al Hilal, St George (Ethiopia), SC Villa, Rwanda, Yugoslavia U-20, Orlando Pirates (South Africa), Zamalek of Egypt and the Zambian national team, the Chipolopolo.
