Minister Kaboyo Commissions Civilian Veterans Residential houses

State Minister in the office of the Prime Minister for Luwero triangle and Rwenzori region Hon. Alice Kaboyo commissioned the civilian Veterans Residential houses constructed during the financial year 2022/2023.

The project which was planned and funded by the office of the Prime Minister through the ministry of Luwero triangle was handed over to the veterans families in the districts of Wakiso, Budaka, Mukono, among others.

The construction included 3 bedroom houses, a store, 2 stance pit latrine, kitchen and solar power was being supervised by the office of the prime minister and the ministry of lands housing and urban development.

Minister Alice Kaboyo urged the family members who received the properties to make sure that they maintain them so that they keep up their standards. Additionally, she appealed to the late Lutamaguzi’s son to try hard to improve on his farming so that he can be able to grow maize and other crops for both subsistence and commercial purposes so that he can fight against poverty.

Hon. Kaboyo noted that the houses are to help the veterans families to sleep comfortably since comfortable homes is one ways to have peaceful minds and healthy thinking, thereby getting ideas that fight against poverty.

However, on the issue of veterans appreciation token known as the Kasiimo, Hon Kaboyo stressed that they are soon starting the process of giving out the Kasiimo to the veterans after full investigations.

They are only waiting for the President’s meeting with the veterans verification committee which is to be done soon. She arged the veterans families to be patient as they process their Kasiimo, the process which is to be done in respective districts.

The General manager for the National Enterprise Corporation which was given the construction work Brian Buhanda, commended the beneficiaries for the cooperation during the construction period and appealed to families to maintain the structures well.

The beneficiaries include Sam Lutamaguzi of Kikandwa Parish Semuto subcounty, Nakaseke, late Lwanyaga’s widow Beneventura Lwanyaga of kiziba ward, Gombe town Wakiso district, Late Peter Mpiima of Kodiri Parish, Kachumo, subcounty Budaka district, Samuel Ssejjembe of Mpoma, Nama subcounty Mukono district, and Ester Tumwine of Rubaya Kashari subcounty Mbarara district.

The Minister has so far handed over houses to two families, one for the Late Lwanyaga and Lutamaguzi.
