Minister of trade, industry and cooperatives, Francis Mwebesa commissions a cylinder factory in Luwero district

Minister of trade, industry and cooperatives Hon. Francis Mwebesa has officially commissioned a cylinder factory called Go Cylinder Uganda limited in Nyindwa  Bombo Luwero district which is aimed at transforming the country from using charcoal to using gas as a way of conserving the environment. The factory is to produce gas Cylinders, solar heaters among others.

Speaking to the congregation at the function, Hon. Francis Mwebesa commended the Go Cylinder Company for contributing towards the country’s transformation as this is to help save the environment from cutting down trees for charcoal and firewood.

He added that the Go cylinder factory has already started getting customers and noted that the gas is to help people reduce on the costs that people have been incurring on charcoal and firewood since gas is cheaper.

The state minister in the office of the prime minister for Luwero triangle Alice Kaboyo extended gratitude over the development that has been brought in the area and as well appreciated the fact that the factory has helped people especially the youth to acquire new skills and at the same time offering them jobs which will help to improve their lives.

Minister Kaboyo added that the Cylinder factory is to help on conserving the environment since people engage in the act acting trees to get charcoal and firewood which has highly been destroying the environment. Therefore using gas cylinders is to help solve the problem.

The sales and marketing  manager of Go Cylinder factory Tawfik Ali appreciated the government for working together with the investors and asked government to offer them more support for the company’s running through working on the roads which has been challenging the factory and also asked government to fulfill the tax exemptions that the President promised them.

He has commended the ministry of industry for working together with them for the last one full year and promised to offer more employment opportunities to Ugandans when they get enough support from government. However, he expressed concern over UMEME which has not been favorable towards their work and appealed to the ministers and government to help them out.

The function was attended by Luwero district CAO and Deputy CAO, security official, local leaders among others.
