MOUNTAINS FOR MEDICINE CHALLENGE SET FOR TOMORROW

The mountains for medicine challenge ride which will start tomorrow at sports outreach ministry, Kiwawu at Mityana road will take two days for the rider to reach Gulu.

The riders from America led by John Davenport Jr and five others ,David Davenport, Mark Gatehouse, Tray Pittman, Nicholas Salazar Garcia, Jhenna Chapman will take part in the 520 miles to Gulu.

According to Robert Katende, the ceo of sports outreach ministry , the challenge will set off tomorrow at Kiwawu at 7am through Kampala to Nakasongola and resting point will be Kigumba and finally Gulu on Sunday, 25,August at sports outreach center in Gulu at Koro Abili. The riders will be making a return journey the following day through Masindi, Hoima, Kiboga and back to Kiwawu on 29, August .

This challenge will be a fundraising drives to support the vision and mission of sports outreach ministry and this time it’s for medical facilities and this time, the Davenport family have come up with the annual bicycle ride challenge of 520 miles to raise funds to support the two medical facilities of Nia Davenport at Kiwawu and Gulu.

Katende went on to call upon the general public and the corporate entities to support this cause by 10,000 per mile.

Sports outreach ministry [SOM] ia an indigenous NGO registration MIA/NB/2023/12/5931 which has served in Uganda for over 30 years working to restore hope and transform lives using sports to alleviate human suffering.
