MP’s laughed at president Museveni

A section of Members of parliament have laughed at president Museveni saying they warned him on removing the roadblocks from the highways adding that it was going to promote insecurity in the country.

This is after Police today told the reporters that they have reinstated security checkpoints across major roads due to rising cases of insecurity and bad driving during the festive season.

In October, President Museveni instructed the removal of the roadblocks. All territorial police commanders have been informed to effect this and highway patrols will be conducted.

Mukono North MP says this issue was foreseen by MPs and told him about the matter, he says president Museveni should ensure that the police patrol vehicles are increased to beef-up security against the criminals.

Nakaseke South MP Paulson Lutamaguzi Semakula says the presence of the Security personnel’s scares away the criminal, the police has done exactly what the MPs were demanding.

Pian County MP (Nabilatuk district) Remigio Achia says the security Organs wanted to reduce the number of accidents and also force motorists to drive carefully to reduce the number of accident.
