Uganda Natball Federation has officially on Monday 16th September 2019 appointed KCCA Netball club and Buddo ss coach Rashid Mubiru as the new She Cranes heaed coach.
Mubiru who will be assisted by Robert Kisitu, replaces Vicent Kiwanuka and Nelson Bogere who led Uganda at the recent 2019 Netball World Cup in Liverpool, England.
Mubiru returns to the position after coaching the side in the 2015 Netball World Cup in Sydney, Australia. He was also the coach of Team Uganda in 2018 World University Netball championship held at Makerere University.
Mubiru, born on 30 December 1979 in Rubaga, had controversially replaced Fred Mugerwa in 2015 just three weeks to the World Cup.
His immediate task will be to help the team ahead of the upcoming African Netball Championship set in South Africa next month.
Uganda are placed sixth in the International Netball Rankings and will be seeking to retain championship in South Africa for the third consecutive time.
