Uganda Muslim supreme council (UMSC) secretary general Sheikh Ramadhan Mugalu has urged Muslim community to involve into politics as a measure to fight for democracy.
Magalu disclosed this information yesterday at Uganda Muslim Supreme council headquarters old Kampala, during the monthly media briefing saying many people complain about unfairness of elections at all levels across the country unfortunately they are not involved in politics.
Mugalu says that, whoever feels is not okay and satisfied with the environment and the way of conducting Uganda’s elections, he or she is free to also join politics either to elect or to be elected to fight against this unfairness instead using wrong and unlawful methods like violence.
“Whoever feels dissatisfied with elections across the country, let him or her involve in elections either to vote or be voted, otherwise you will keep on singing vote rigging always,” he said.
Mugalu also expressed his grief over the increasing number of early pregnancies and domestic violence which he said has led by Covid19 pandemic.
“I urge all parents to take care and responsibility of their children in this lockdown to avoid unwanted pregnancies which puts their lives at stake,” he said.
Mugalu also revealed that, as religious leaders, they are ready to observe SOPs immediately after the reopening of worship places that is to say Mosques and churches saying, this is the most method to communicate to “ALLAH” directly to normalize the situation.
In the same vein, Mugalu lashed at all people who are eying for mismanaging and destroying Muslim properties in areas of Kampala, Ssembabule, Masaka among others in the name of Uganda Muslim supreme council, with an aim of tarnishing its name, thus urging all those who want to know the truth about these properties to contact Uganda Muslim Supreme council for more information.
