Mutalaga Cup 2024: St Lawrence, Muti FC start with wins

Following a day break off, the Lweza surrounding area football tournament, Mutalaga Christmas cup returned with two games on Thursday 18 July 2024.

In the late show which started at 4:00pm wasteful St Lawrence University beat Kikavule FC 2-1 in a match held at Lweza playground. Thanks to goals from Julio Kalanda and Sakiri Ibra who scored in either halves, putting St Lawrence in a 2-0 lead but as the game closing to an end, Pius Ssekandi pulled one back for Kikavule to make it ending 2-1.

Prior to St Lawrence game, Muti FC had defeated St Paul 2-0 with the goals scored by Brian Nokia and an Own goal off Talibu Yakole short.

Muti FC is leading the group with three points with one goal difference against St Lawrence who stands in second.

The tournament will take another break on Friday 19 July 2024 and will resume on Saturday July 20 with two games at Lweza playground when Kiwoko young will be up against Kataasa FC and Football for Life Vs Friends of Football.

The tournament is taking action all through to the climax expected to take centre stage on Wednesday 25 December 2024
