Religious Leaders and believers from the Anglican Church of Uganda have been in an innumerable congregation in union with the Catholics in the way of the cross through different parts of Mukono as a sign of crucifixion, suffering and resurrections of Jesus Christ for our sins.

The way of the cross was set off by the Bishop of Mukono Diocese, Rt.Rev.Enos Kitto Kagodo and Maama Catherine Kitto in the morning from St.Philip & Andrews Cathedral, to Bishop’s Senior Namirembe Church of Uganda Hospital, Mukono General Hospital, boda boda Bishop stage, Mukono Municipality, Mukono Police Station, Centenary Bank , Mukono Central Division, Mituba IV, District Headquarters, Kawuga Prison and finally to St.Charles Lwanga Catholic Church in Bugujju .

Bishop Kagodo appreciated the congregation for the time offered in the remembering of the suffering of Jesus Christ whom we follow and without him we have no faith, life and hope because Jesus’ suffering was meant for our life, and appealed to the entire congregation to follow the way of Jesus Christ and avoid mistreating others in this resurrection period because we are all God’s people.

The Cathedral Provost, The Very Rev.Can,Godfrey Ssengendo also prayed for the health workers at Mukono Church of Uganda Hospital where he encouraged all people to always go for medical checkup to know the status of their lives because God wants healthy people.

At Kawuga Prison, The Cathedral Vicar Rev.Daniel Bbalabyekkubo, asked the prisoners to know that being prisoners doesn’t mean that they are the most sinners and criminals, and encouraged them to believe more in Christ and to repent as they are in prison and avoid revenge as they also forgive the people who pushed them into this situation.

Rev.Capt.Geofrey Mutumba prayed for the Prisoners and encouraged prisoners to stand firm in Jesus since people out there are living in peace but their souls and bodies are imprisoned as many are still captives of witchcraft, theft, Adultery, conmen and others. He asked them to accept Jesus as their savior in this period of resurrection.

Rev.Father Vianne Kyeyume from St.Charles Lwanga blessed the health workers at Mukono General Hospital to be empowered by God in their service and cautioned them to avoid sinful ways at their work.

While at Mituba IV Ggombolola Kawuga, Rev.Father Dr. Bonny Ssekanjako from St.Charles Lwanga, also asked the believers to bridge the gap between Christianity, Culture and Customs as it can result into worshipping other gods hence failing Jesus to do His work, he then said people should use resources given unto them for their faith appropriately.

Things like Soap, Sugar, Rice, Meat, Water and many other valuable things were collected and given to Prisoners to also enjoy this Easter season.
