The Nabagereka of Buganda Her Royal Highness Sylvia Nagginda has challenged parents to be part of their children’s upbringing so that they can be raised into responsible citizens.

She mentioned this on Wednesday January 10th when she was meeting the Kisakaate 2024 participants at Homesdallen Primary School Gayaza and opened a new building at the same School which was named Nabagereka Sylvia Nagginda Block.

Nabagereka noted that parents have to train their children about the use of modern technology, smart phones among others to protect them from being misled. During her meeting with the Kisakaate participants, HRH Nagginda trained the participants about the dangers of drug abuse, being disciplined, cleanliness, helping each other, among others.

The participants revealed to the Nabagereka what they have learnt including farming, cooking, leadership at different levels in Buganda Kingdom, culture and norms among others.

The CEO Nabagereka development Foundation Adrian Mukiibi revealed that the Nabagereka instructed them to put emphasis on establishing libraries with information about the past so that children can get information and learn more about their past.

The Head teacher Homesdallen Primary school Gayaza Godfrey Kalyango stressed that they decided to name their new building after the Nabagereka as a gift to her for the Kisakaate 2024. And expressed gratitude towards the Nabagereka for giving them chance to organise this year’s Kisakaate as it has given them space to host children allover the country.

The Kisakaate was started in 2007 and this year’s Kisakaate is the 17th.
