The NRM Deputy Secretary General, Rt Hon. Namayanja Rose Nsereko, has commended the Seventh-day Adventist church for their exemplary commitment to enhancing healthcare services in Uganda through the establishment of hospitals.
Speaking at the fundraising event for the SDA West Buganda Field Buwalula Women Center of Influence, a groundbreaking initiative dedicated to establishing a modern hospital in Buwalula Sub County, Mityana district, Namayanja expressed her appreciation for the pivotal role played by the church and the Adventist Women Ministries in advancing healthcare.
During the event, Namayanja acknowledged the profound impact the proposed hospital would have on the communities, stating that it would significantly accelerate and enhance access to quality healthcare services.
“I extend my heartfelt appreciation to the church and the Adventist Women Ministries for their unwavering dedication to establishing centres of influence. The envisioned hospital in Buwalula will not merely be a medical institution but a symbol of hope and progress for the communities it serves,” declared Namayanja.
She highlighted the ongoing demand for increased healthcare personnel, despite having over 6,900 health centres nationwide, owing to the country’s growing population. The proposed SDA Faith-based hospital, according to Namayanja, emerges as a critical step in bridging this gap, providing not only medical care but also aligning with the objectives outlined in the National Development Plan III (NDP III) and the NRM Manifesto.
“As we acknowledge the commendable efforts of existing health centres, it is imperative to recognize the existing gaps in healthcare accessibility. The new hospital aligns seamlessly with our national development goals and will play a pivotal role in addressing the healthcare needs of the community,” emphasized Namayanja, underlining the vital role the proposed hospital would play in the holistic development of healthcare services in the region.
