National Open Boxing Championship action took off at Lugogo

The National Open Boxing Championships that started on Friday 3 March 2023 at the Lugogo Indoor Stadium have continued with more bouts today as boxers of various age limits are tussling it out to reach the final stages.

Boxers who triumph in the competition will take part in more competitive events like the Champions League through which the national boxing team is selected.

The National Boxing Open Championship 2023 has entered its third day at lugogo indoor stadium.

So far the tournament have attracted almost 4, 000 boxers in junior, youth and elite category. On day three, Lukanga , KCCA, East Coast boxing clubs are still performing better. Boxers like Collins Mutyaba, of Zebra boxing club, Ibrahim Kemisi, of Mutajazi boxing club are still in good performance.

Tomorrow, Monday, will be semi finals, Tuesday and Wednesday will be resting days and then Thursday will be the finals day. Last National open edition in 2019, East Coast boxing club won in the elite category and took themselves a bull as Lukanga boxing club were overall winners which earned them motorcycle.
