No file of any person allegedly involved in the Karamoja Irion Sheets Saga got lost in my office-DPP Jane Abodo

DPP Jane Abodo has refuted allegations of files of prominent people involved in iron saga getting lost from her office.

While appearing before the parliamentary Human Rights committee chaired by Foxi Odoi also MP west Budama county north, Dpp Abodo said that she was also shocked to see a headline in one of the publications thus confirming that no file is lost.

On the issue of delayed investigations into files as asked by MPs on the committee, DPP Abodo stated that at times evidence needed is got far from kampala and it needs officers to travel to the scene of crime.

She added that investigations take long to avoid presenting files in court without conclusive evidence or with halfway evidence.

However DPP Abodo assured MPs that by May this year all mabati saga file investigations will be concluded.

The DPP Jane Abodo has called for anger managent training for police officers.

This was during the meeting btn DPP office, Police department of human rights and the parliamentaryHuman Rights Committee chaired by Foxi Odoi also MP west Budama county north as they investigate the misconduct by police officers while arresting the 11 opposition women MPs on 27th of April last month.

Police officers are accused of brutal arrests exercised on the women mps while attempting to deliver their petition to the ministery of Internal Affairs on allegations of brutalizing women MPs by security officers on orders of area RDCs whenever they organised women day celebrations in their districts.

In reply DPP Abodo ecohed that at times police officers are provoked which at times leads to the unnecessary actions by security officers thus proposing for advanced training for police officers on how to handle anger situations while dispersing riots.

DPP Abodo however condemned the acts by police officers saying it was uncalled for.
