Today 11th marks the deadline since the ruling NRM party directed all its candidates from areas where results from its primaries have not yet declared to bring declaration forms as a measure to handle the matter.
This has revealed by NRM party electoral commission deputy chairman John Kijagi Alimpa saying in areas of Kagadi, Jinja city, Butembe county, Ntoroko county, Buyaga East, and Mbale city, party legislator flag bearers have not yet declared from the just recent concluded party primaries due to various challenges experienced during elections such as alteration of results among others.
Kijagi says, in these areas a lot of violence was experienced and some security operatives were partisan who wanted some candidates to win on their favour which is unlawful and illegal.
“We want to retally votes from these areas basing on what we have as electoral commission of the party and what is on the declaration forms that will enable us to declare final and official results and winners, he added”.
Kijagi says receiving declaration forms of these candidates has ended today
11 Friday of September, 2020, which is again a day which also party flag bearers of district chairpersons, city mayors and others have been elected.
Its on the same note where Kijagi warned security operatives not to get involved in next elections to be held next week and whoever is caught will be arrested.
“We have seen and heard security operatives several times engaging into elections instead providing environment to enable electorates conducting elections.
“we have already arrested some of these people and still hunting others, therefore we shall do the same in the next party primaries next week, he added”.
Kijagi also highlighted that, following the conclusion of receiving petitions from the just concluded party elections from various areas, they will sort them out before the end of this month.
