The ruling National resistance Movement party (NRM) Electoral Commission (EC) has called off the ongoing elections of division and City mayor of Ntugamo municipality due to malpractices and irresponsible behaviors of candidates .
This has been revealed by Party electoral Commission boss Dr.Tanga Odoi who earlier today told the media that the municipality had 3 contesting Mayors and 32 councillors.
Tang adds that after solving these issues the new date for these elections will be announced so that the party gets the flag bearers.
He has also disclosed that the commission has also canceled out the victory of Michael Katungi who had earlier announced as NRM party parliamentary flag bearer of Butembo constituency kyanwanzi district because there was tempering of results and the new winner will be officially declared after the Commission looking into results.
Tanga also highlighted that, the winners from Buyaga East and Ntoroko will be announced by tomorrow, and declaration of new polling date of Kigula, Muwogola East and West, also will be communicated after 20th of September, 2020.
“we had suspended elections of some areas across the country due to violence and misunderstandings of candidates but we have commenced to handle these issues till they are done,” he added.
