In a bid to improve the wellbeing of Ugandans and fight against unemployment and poverty, the national mobilization office of the ruling NRM party based at Kyambogo on Wednesday donated self empowerment support to various Ugandans.
Among the equipment are sewing machines, hair cutting machines, driers, brick making machines, maize seeds, Popcorn machines, welding machines, Knapsack sprayer among others.
While handing over these equipment to the beneficiaries, the ONC Boss ‘Hajjat Namyalo noted that this is among President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni’s self empowerment strategies to fight against poverty, unemployment as well as improving the well being of Ugandans.
“President Museveni wants each and every Ugandan to earn a living on a daily basis to fight against poverty and unemployment as a way to make Uganda middle income status,”Namyalo stated.
The head of the Kyambogo based Office of the NRM National Chairman (ONC), Hajjat Namyalo Hadijah Uzeiye also revealed that President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni is aware of the demands by his Bazzukulu (Grand Children) to have an interaction with him but they need to wait until further notice.
Namyalo who also doubles as the National Coordinator of the Bazukulu movement and a senior presidential Advisor in charge of political affairs made the revelation on Wednesday, September 27, 2023 at NRM national mobilization office based at Kyambogo Nakawa Kampala.
The beneficiaries bring together mobilization groups and associations such as Ghetto Youths, Saloon Operators, farmers among others.
Hajati Namyalo however, cautioned the ghetto youths against being used by anti-Museveni groups and asked them not to engage in illegal demonstrations but instead form groups to access government funding.
“I appeal to you not to be used by opportunists who want to use you as stepping stones for them to go and collect funds abroad. Why do you allow others to make you stepping stones? She asked.
She added that “Museveni wants you to use structures to get money to develop. Let’s be patient and disciplined,” She cautioned.
Some beneficiaries, specifically those based at Kampala and metropolitan areas, complained about the rampant arrests by Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) law enforcement officers and asked the Office of the National Chairman to intervene.
“Many of our colleagues are languishing in prison yet they have families to look after,” they said.
In the same vein, Namyalo lashed at NRM officials over fighting each other saying this tarnishes the image of the party and wonders why such scenarios happen in a party like NRM.
“Wrangles take us nowhere except giving our enemies chances to use our weaknesses to save their interests, this is not time for fighting but to make President Museveni consolidate into power,”Namyalo added.
Abdallah Ssekaaya, chairman of village to village group applauded Hajati Hadijah Namyalo for lobbying them to improve their wellbeing through fighting poverty and unemployment.
“We have been looking for Popcorn machines, we came here at (Kyambogo) not knowing that we are going to get these machines (Popcorn machines), but we have finally received them,”Ssekaya said.

The event was crowned with several group members and leaders chanting; grandfather don’t move from the way, we make it on the ballot; locally translated as “Jjajja Tova Ku Main” tukikube paka ku bbaloti as a sign of endorsing the president for the 2026 polls.
