Orthodox church celebrates the Holy Transfiguration Parish Day

The Archbishop of the Orthodox church of Uganda His Eminence Leronymos Muzeeyi has challenged believers in the Orthodox church to be keen with the reason why God sent His son through a human body, knowing that He could lead people to God.

He noted this, as he was preaching to the church during the celebrations of the transfiguration Parish day, at Anoonya Orthodox centre, Namwatulira Degeya Kalagala in Luwero.

While speaking to the congregation, the Archbishop noted that Christians’ need to emulate Jesus so that he leads them to God which was the reason why God sent Him in Human fresh. He appealed to them to embrace the sacrament of Baptism so that they can resurrect through christ.

The Vickar of the Orthodox church in Uganda and the parish priest of the Transfiguration Parish Fr. John Kibuuka Bbosa, has commended people who have made it to grace the function and  arged the church to work together to see that this parish develops to the level of a tourist attraction.

While leading the service, the Bishop in charge of the Orthodox church in the parts of Jinja Bishop Silvester Kistu, has cautioned the church to seek the kingdom of the Lord so that the Lord may stand with them all the time. He added that those who dont seek the kingdom of the lord fall victims of the temptations of the devil, thereby giving him space to mislead them.

He noted the example of  Bishop Spata and Bishop Obedia who introduced the Orthodox church in Uganda, after they sought the kingdom of the Lord.

The Bishop of Gulu Bishop Nectarios Kabuye, has challenged the church to stand firm in whatever challenges the church goes through but never to give up, as the lord will stand with them until they overcome their challenges.

He challenged them to keep their faith in the Lord and stand  with patience and togetherness through keeping and respecting their bodies in christ,  for the lord will not leave them.

He challenged them to avoid engaging in conflicts since the church  does not benefit from such, but just to mislead people.
