New Vision wins overall 2019 Media Sports Gala.

New Vision walked their talk by emerging the best team at the 2019 Media Sports Gala held at Namboole Stadium on Sunday, October 13.

The newspaper won two of the three events to defeat 25 other teams that had showed up for football, athletics and netball.

On a fun-filled day littered with activity on four pitches, running track and netball courts, New Vision defeated their mates Bukedde from Vision Group 1-0 in the football final at dusk.

Mande Kyomukama scored the winner while Baba TV edged Galaxy FM via penalties for third place.

Earlier, New Vision had also won athletics with 35 points after topping men’s 200m as well as the men and women’s 4x100m relay finals.

In netball, Impact FM defeated four others to the trophy after garnering seven points, one ahead of New Vision. Prime Radio took the last position on the podium with five points.

The event was graced by Chief Guest French Ambassador to Uganda Jules-Armand Aniambossou who commended organisers of the Media Sports Gala for what he described as a great initiative, and pledged that the Government of France through the embassy in Kampala will support upcoming editions.
