Paris Saint-Germain have reportedly given Al-Hilal permission to speak with Kylian Mbappe after they accepted a world-record €300m (£259.3m) bid.

Mbappe could be heading towards a summer exit with his current PSG contract set to expire at the end of the 2023-24 season.

The France international has indicated that he is prepared to trigger a one-year extension, and as a result, he would be allowed to depart for free next summer.

PSG have made it clear that Mbappe will need to sign a new deal, or the French champions will look to cash in during the current window.

Mbappe, who was left out of PSG’s tour of Japan and South Korea, has reportedly agreed to join Real Madrid in the summer of 2024.

However, a number of European clubs have been alert to the situation, and are looking into the possibility of securing his signature.

Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur and Barcelona are among those that are showing interest, but they face competition from Saudi Arabian club Al-Hilal.

A recent report claimed that the Saudi Pro League side had tabled a world-record €300m (£259.3m) bid for the French striker.

According to Sky Sports News, PSG have now accepted Al-Hilal’s offer and have given Mbappe permission to speak to the Saudi Arabian club.

PSG are willing to listen to any offers for Mbappe, but other clubs will struggle to get anywhere near the lucrative offer that has been put forward by Al-Hilal.

There has also been a suggestion that PSG are willing to allow him to leave on loan, while the player is prepared to stay at the club, even if he is frozen out next season.https://79e2edbb3ca9954e103bdfcb6cee65e8.safeframe.googlesyndication.com/safeframe/1-0-40/html/container.html?n=0

Mbappe currently earns £2m a week at PSG and is set to receive more than £100m, including bonuses, if he sees out the rest of his contract.

The 24-year-old was in fine form last season, as he racked up 41 goals and 10 assists in 43 appearances across all competitions.

In total, he has featured in 260 games for the French giants, scoring 212 goals and providing 98 assists since arriving from Monaco in 2018.
