The movers of the censure motion against three NRM commissioners and former Leader of Opposition Mathias Mpuuga have extended the deadline for collecting signatures to June 10th, 2024.

This move comes after the motion gained significant traction, with more MPs signing on.

Lwemiyaga County MP Theodore Ssekikubo, one of the movers, announced the new deadline, encouraging fellow MPs and Ministers to join the fight against corruption by signing the petition.

Ssekikubo emphasized the importance of accountability, especially after President Museveni’s condemnation of corruption during the State of the Nation Address.

The list of MPs who refuse to sign the censure motion will be made public, Ssekikubo warned, allowing their constituents to hold them accountable.

The extended deadline is expected to further boost support for the motion, which has already gained over 150 signatures.
