People start to bring Kabaka’s Gifts ahead of Monday’s final 30th Anniversary celebrations.

As the final celebrations for the 30th coronation of His Majesty the King of Buganda get close, people from different places have started bringing the gifts to be donated to the Kabaka tommorow which will be made the Amakula after the Kabaka recieves them.

According to the program, when the Kabaka gets to the Lubiri tommorow, the first thing he will do is to recicieve his gifts, and according to Buganda culture, when he receives the gifts, they become Amakula.

Among the people and groups which  have brought their donations to the Kabaka include Happy years Primary School from both branches Ndeeba and Kabuusi. One of the headteachers  Eddie Ssebanenya said that they try their best to groom their pupils knowing their clans and culture so that they can grow up knowing their clan heritage.

He adds that this helps children to grow up in love with their clans and totems, that’s why they chose to dress them with their totems as pride that they belong to those clans.

The Kaggo  Owek Ahmed Magandaazi Matovu has commended Happy years schools for training children grow up in their cultures which helps to expand the Kingdoms where they belong.

In the same way, the Deputy Kaggo who recieved the gifts on behalf of Buganda Kingdom Dr.  Phiona Kalinda has commended people who train children to grow up with a giving heart just as they have given to the king.

Meanwhile, Buganda chief for Nateete Mutubagumu Asadu Kirabira has extended gratitude towards the pupils of Happy years Schools for their genuine contribution towards the Kingdom cause, and he also came with gifts as a way of responding towards the 30th Anniversary celebrations cause.

Another Bugand chief Kasubi Ssabawaali Abasi Jjuuko has also led the Ssabawaali group to bring their gifts to the Lubiri and they have also handed them to the Deputy Kaggo Dr. Phiona Kalinda. He pledged to move together with the kingdom as away of respecting their culture.

However, the chairman for the organising committee for the 30th Anniversary celebrations Owek David Mpanga Kisitu has cautioned the people to be vigilant with security to avoid inconveniences.

He also argued all people who would like to attend the function in person, to be cautious about their dress code so that they dress in a descent way that respects  Buganda culture. He warned them not to come with any objects which contradicts with security, as whoever comes with such objects will not be allowed to enter.

The Kingdom spokesperson Noah Kiyimba has challenged people who think they can cause any chaos in the lubiri during the function to stay away from coming, since they will be handled roughly.

Among the gifts they have brought include eggs, matooke, banana leaves, bread, cooking oil, flour, cows, goats, hens, sugarcanes, fruits and vegetables among others.
