Pepsi UFL: Kabale, YMCA appeared unsharpened in front of the goal in 0-0 draw.

Inspite of chances on either sides, Kabale University and YMCA were not sharp enough to Utilize chances created as the game ends at 0-0 square.

At the either ends both teams got there chances as both teams failed to kill off chances.

Kabale University side, goalkeeper Derrick Wutwali was a hero with some fantastic saves as his side was receiving hard times from the visitors who got the most open chances of the game.

On the return to the University Football League competition, Kabale University started the game on a high note, finding the ball behind the opponent’s net in the early stages the game but the goal was disallowed goal due to an offside offence committed in 13th minute.

Few minutes later, YMCA got their goal and was also disallowed due to the same offence.

From the moment , YMCA started banging seriously on Kabale University but Goalie Wutwali was alway on the right position for his duties.

YMCA forward Benon Kigenyi had a great saved and Banton Kankazi missed a rebound from a close-range to win a corner kick.

As it was pressure after pressure Wutwali had another save from Kigenyi’s shot when he received a multi million pass from Martin Ssebanjwe which overtook Kabale’s defense.

Wutwali’s performance was enough to keep his side in the game at half time.

The pile was yet over 10 minutes after the restart, Kigenyi continued the hunt this time from a creative role, setting up captain Sharif Wasswa who fired his effort off target.

After overcoming lots of attacks from YMCA, Kabale University got an opportunity to take the game with 20 minutes left to the play.

Christian Muhindo met Miracle Abaho’s cross when YMCA goalkeeper Peter Isabirye was off his line but team captain Wasswa Jesse was their to rescue of the visitors.

Another chance came in for Solomon Ainembabazi but his effort just went wide keeping the scoreline at 0-0.

After the double moments, YMCA sneaked in to another scoring opportunity but Kanganzi’s well taken effort went past Wutwali to hit the woodwork following a wonderful pass from Waswa in the last remarkable move of the game.

The result meant that all group A teams are yet to register a win as each already played once.

Meanwhile, Uganda Christian University played a 1-1 draw with St Lawrence University in other group game.

The league will resume on Wednesday 25th September 2024 with Group F tie between Mbarara University of Science and Technology (MUST) hosting Makerere University Business School (MUBS) in Mbarara at 3pm.
