Plan international Uganda says that the traffic and road safety bill currently being scrutinized by the physical infrastructure commmitte of parliament adresses the issue of social behavior of the people who are mannering transport.
While interfacing with MPS on the bill the advocacy and influencing manager plan international Uganda Irene Kagoya said that 80% of the adolecent girls in Kampala ,they have worked with feel unsafe in public transport because there are harrassed.
Kagoya now suggest that the drivers and conductors be structured under Saccos so that there are easily identified in case of any crime.
kagoya also said that parliament should consider the issue of sexual harrasment as a compliance matter as one renews the permit because it’s a huge problem especially in public transport.Track kagoya bill Eng and lug
