Kansaii Plascon has today partner s with FUFA on Uganda cup for a two- year deal.

Kansai joins Stanbic bank for the annual Knockout club competition under the football federation of Uganda.

Plascon injects sh 132m to the next two years, the was revealed today Friday 26th March 2021 morning in a press briefing held at Plascon head office located on 2nd street in Kampala.

The managing Director Santosh Gumte honoured to have come on board.

“Iam very honoured to have come on board we are always associated with sports we have always wanted to associate with Uganda cup because of its rich history.

FUFA 3rd vice president Hon. Florence Nakiwala Kiyingi recommended Plascon for developing Ugandan sports and encouraged them to grown wings to women football as well.

“We are excited to see that the Uganda cup continues to grow, this is good news for the game”.

” I wish to encourage Plascon to explore more opportunities in some of our tournament that they have not joined like women football that is on a high rise , Nakiwala stated.

Nakiwala also confirmed an increashe in this year ‘s prize money from sh132 to 166m, winner- sh 50m , Runners up -sh20m, semis -sh 12m , round of 16- sh 3m, round of 32-sh 1.5m.

The tournament of the last year was halted before end and later declared null and void due to coron.

32 teams to participate in this year’s tournament and will kickoff on Monday April 5th until the final on July 24th 2021 at yet to be confirmed venue .The ties will be played home and away beside the final.

The winner of the competition will represents Uganda at the CAF confederation cup.

Proline are the defending champions having won the 2018/19 championship when they beat Bright stars Fc in shootouts in a final held at Masaka recreation ground.

KCCA and Express are joint record winners with 10 titles ,SC VilLA with 9 titles in second position.
