Proline FC netted two away goals as KCCA FC held at home in CAF Confederation Cup

KCCA held to a goalless draw by Paradou of Algeria at Lugogo which decreases the chances of making it to this year’s CAF Confederations Cup group stages as it was in Champions league when they were injected out by Angolan Petro De Luanda earlier this year.

KCCA FC looked the better side especially in the last 45 minutes but could not break down a resolute Paradou side who will be smiling with a point.

The returning Muzamir Mutyaba got the better chances to score at leasr a goal for the home side but he could not deliver in the end.

Mutyaba who has been out with an injury since the 1-1 draw with Petro de Luanda, saw a goal bound effort diflected out for a fruitless corner.

Allan Okello and Mike Mutyaba also had half chances in the game but could not get the better of Toufik Moussaoui in the Paradou goal.

The visitors also had chances of their own but both Abdel Kadri and Yousri Bouzok could not score while one on one with KCCA FC’s custodian Charles Lukwago.

This is the second consecutive game in which KCCA FC have failed to win at home on the continent. The last was against Petro de Luanda, one that saw them drop into the Confederations Cup.

Mike Mutebi’s side will now have to score a goal or else scrap to another goalless draw and negotiate their way through penalties-in the second leg, so as to progress into the group stages of the competition.

The two side will meet again on Sunday, November 3rd in the second leg.

Meanwhile Proline FC have held Egyptian side Al Nasr to a 2-2 draw thanks to two crucial goals for Uganda Cup champions courtesy of captain Musitafa Mujuzi and Bright Anukani.

The Lugogo based side boys played all heartedly and will now look to get the job done at home next week in the return leg .

Elsewhere, Kenya’s Gor Mahia were held to a 1-1 draw by DR Congo’s Motema Pembe, Fosa Juniors of Madagascar shocked RS Berkene of Morocco, home to Patrick Kaddu.

South Africa’s Bidvest Wits won 2-1 away to UD Songo of Mozambique, Green Eagles settled for a 1-1 draw at home to Hassania Agadir of Morocco and El Masry won 4-0 away to Cote d’Or of Seychelles.

Pyramids step the first foot into the group stages of the Caf Confederation Cup after gaining first leg advantage with a 2-1 away to Young Africans in Dar es Salaam.

El Said and Traore scored for the Egyptian side in the first half before Papy Tshibimbi pulled one back for the hosts who also had a man sent off later in the game.
