PRESIDENT CALLS FOR MORE WOMEN PARTICIPATION AS THE 13 KYAMBOGO WOODBALL OPEN CHAMPIONSHIP CLIMAXES

The 13 edition of the Kyambogo Open Woodball climaxed on Saturday, 16, March at Kyambogo university, peace ground with different clubs taking part.

The event which started in the morning, ended in the evening with winners awarded in different categories.

The event was attended by the federation president, Paul Mark Kayongo and different Woodball officials.

During his adress to the press, the president called for more women participation to the game since it’s the game where women can excel without using alot of energy.

The result in the stroke men’s team- Open saw excellent performance from participants from different teams and institutions.

1.KAMPALA UNIVERSITY

The best performers include, Moses Ababa with 100 stroke in total and David Kabugo with 108 strokes.

2.MAKERERE UNIVERSITY

The best performers include, George Guma with 118 strokes and Muhammed Kasibante with 116 strokes.

3.STROKE WOODBALL

Thomas Kedi with 114 strokes and Lawrence Mugisha with 126 strokes.

4.MUBS

Brian Gwaaka with 117 and Ronald Mulindwa with 115.

5.PRISONS WOODBALL

Isaac Ariho with 113 strokes and Isaac Nabugere with 127.

6.NDEJJE UNIVERSITY

Titus Ekwilu with 144 strokes and Denis Mugambe with 111 strokes.

7.UNIVERSITY OF KISUBI (UNIK)

Hillary Bukenya with 131 strokes and William Lule with 146 strokes.

8.EMINENTS WOODBALL

Joel Adupa with 140 strokes and Joseph Kayemba with 125 strokes.

9.NDEJJE UNIVERSITY

Peter Ddungu with 109 strokes and Hamim Jakisa with 145 strokes.

10.KIU

Brave Mwesigye with 137 strokes and Tonny Sekyenne with 98.

11. UCU

Hillary Enzema with 157 strokes and Adam Mirungi with 150 strokes.

The results in stroke men’s single – Open include;

1 – Derrick Ankunda of Ndejje University with 97 strokes .

2.Tonny Sekyenne of KIU with 98 strokes.

3.Moses Agaba of Kampala University with 100 strokes.

4.Edson Tumwine of Unik with 101 strokes.

5.Akram Matovu of Makerere university with 102 strokes.

The winners in women’s singles -open include;

1-Alverah Mukamarinda of Ndejje university B with 109 strokes

2.Lilian Zawedde of Kampala university with 113 strokes.

3.Rashidah Neteese of MUBS with 116 strokes.

4.Pauline Nalayenga of Eminent woodball with 121 strokes .

5.Rhonah Namutebi of Stroke woodball club  with 121 strokes.

The results for women’s singles -corporate

1.Patricia Najjemba of Stroke woodball corporate with 59 strokes .

2.Noeline Nalwoga of Unik  with 62 strokes.

3.Reges Nanfuka of Ministry of public services with 64.

4.Peninah Namugerwa of Unik with 66 strokes .

5.Phiona Namata of Ministry of Public services with 66 strokes.

1.Nicholaus Achimpota of Ndejje corporate woodball corporate.

2.Sam Saturday of Kisubi corporate woodball club with 57 strokes.

3.David Mutebi of Kisubi corporate woodball with 59 strokes.
