The President of the Republic of Uganda H.E Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has on Sunday September 20th 2020 directed for the reopening of schools for candidate classes and finalists in all institutions across the country.
While addressing the nation on the state of the Country’s Coronavirus in the country, the President noted that the increase in the number of cases is attributed to errant Ugandans who have not been keen in following the Ministry of Health’s Standard Operating Procedures.
President Museveni noted that candidates and finalists are few in number and can easily be looked after and cared for compared to reopening for all the students and pupils.
“We have decided to reopen schools for the candidates including P7, S4, S6 and finalists in universities and tertiary universities. We believe that the number of these is small” President Yoweri Museveni noted.
President Museveni added that “The schools for the finalists will be open in the limited ways we have pointed out, on October 15th, 2020. The rest we will see in January 2021”.
