SC Villa vs BUL FC
Bombo Barracks Stadium, Bombo
Wednesday, 13-11-2019 @4:30pm

SC Villa will be hoping to maintain their good run of form when they take on BUL FC at the Bombo Barracks Stadium on Wednesday afternoon.

The Jogoos have surprised many this season after fighting for survival last campaign.

Currently, they are in third spot, 9 points off the top of the table and it is still a mystery to many, how they have managed such a transformation despite not being able to freshen up last season’s squad

The appointment of Edward Kaziba and assistant Ibrahim Kirya looks to be paying dividends already as the Jogoos continue their surge up the table.

The other factor is how better most player who under-performed last season, have turned out to be.

The likes of Ambrose Kirya, Emmanuel Kalyowa, Asuman Alishe and Saidi Keni are all a shadow of those that struggled throughout the 2018/19 season.

Villa’s last two games have brought out two sides of Villa, ones that good sides usually have.

They were magnificent in their 4-1 win over Tooro United FC, a game that they dominated from the front foot.

For the 1-0 victory at Bright Stars, the Jogoos scrapped and had to dig deep for the points, proving how tough they can get on an average day.

Six wins already this season and the Jogoos are yearning for more, especially one that takes them into second as BUL are just three points ahead of them.

However, none of those victories have come against a side sitting ahead of them in the standings.

On Wednesday, they take on BUL FC who are second on the log and have been impressive too.

Peter Onen’s side are the outright surprise package of the season and keep on winning games that they would have been losing in the recent past.

They have already gotten the better of Express FC, KCCA FC and Tooro United-away and will very much fancy another big result against one of the traditional big boys of the country.

This will be the 16th meeting between the two sides since 2011.

In the last 15 matches, Villa have won 7, BUL three whilst the other five have ended in draws.

However, despite Villa boosting the better record, they have not defeated BUL in any of their last three meetings (D1 L2).

BUL on the reverse fixture 1-0 last season.

Villa head into the game having lost just a single game this season (W6 D5). That loss came on the opening day of the season as they went down 1-0 away to Kyetume.

At home, the Jogoos are yet to lose a game, winning three and drawing as many of their first six.

BUL FC come into the game unbeaten in their last four games (W2 D2).

Away from home, BUL have lost only one game all season (W3 D2).
