Rev. Canon Paul Hannington Suubi Elected the 1st Bishop of East Busoga Diocese.

Church of Uganda Family congratulates Rev. Can. Paul Hannington Ssubi who is currently the Bishop elect for East Busoga Diocese, this follows, the house of Bishops sat at the Provincial Secretariat at Namirembe on Wednesday 4th October 2023 elected Canon Paul Hannington Ssuubi as the first Bishop of East Busoga Diocese.

According to the statement issued, He will be consecrated and enthroned as Bishop of Busoga East on Sunday 19th November 2023 at St. Stevens Pro Cathedral in Bugiri.

Bishop elect Suubi is married to Dr. Margret Stella Suubi and God has blessed them with 3 biological children. He was ordained a Deacon in August 1993 and ordained a priest in 1997

He holds a Diploma in Education and a Bachelor’s degree in Divinity. He currently serves as assistant Vickar at St. Andrews Church of Uganda Jinja. His ministry has been mainly in schools where he served as the longest serving Chaplain at Busoga College Mwiiri

He accepted Jesus as his Lord and saviour in 1994 when he realised that he could not walk alone but rather in Jesus Christ, inspired by St. Paul in Galatians 2:20. “I have been crucified with Jesus Christ, it is nolonger i who lives but Christ who lives in me and the life i now live in the fresh. I live in the faith in the son of God who loved me and gave himself for me.

Meanwhile the election for the new Namirembe Diocese bishop has also been conduct but announcement has been postponed
