Royal Giants High school attacking midfielder Elvis Ssekajugo among 23 boy squad as Byekwaso names the squad for 2023 CECAFA U18 boys Championship

The U18 National Team continues to demonstrate their readiness for the upcoming CECAFA U18 Boys Championship, scheduled to take place from November 25th to December 8th, 2023, in Kenya.

Uganda Cubs captain and Royal Giants High school intelligent attacking midfielder Elvis Ssekajugo is among the 23 boy squad named by the Head Coach Morley Byekwaso that will represent Uganda in the 2023 CECAFA U18 Boys Championship that will held in Kakamega, Kenya.

The young talented midfielder netted a couple of goals for Ssingo Ssaza FC in the just concluded Masaaza Cup and he also featured for Buwekula Ssaza FC and Mawookota Ssaza FC .

The Royal Giant High School midfielder also featured for Kampala Province this year in the FUFA Drum tournament under Coach Simon Dunga .

The full travelling squad:

Goalkeepers; Magada Abdu, Etuta Bieven Siraje and Nsubuga Chris Ronald.

Defenders; Ssonko Ssembatya Hafidhu, Kaye Ronald, Wandera Hakim, Abalirya Peter, Anguti Amagu Louis, Mukisa Simon and Namaisi Stephen.

Midfielders; Katongole Frank, Kisolo John Innocent, Batiibwe Charlse Okello, Karungi Abusaid, Mutyaba Travis, Mutebi Hakim, Mpasa Swabir and Ssekajugo Elvis.

Forwards; Kyeyune Abasi, Okello Richard, Yiga Alex, Mayanja Abubaker and Kisiriko Dennis.

The CECAFA U18 Boys Championship promises to be a platform where the nation’s young football talents will shine. The coaching staff is confident in the team’s ability to compete at the highest level and bring glory to the nation.

The team will setoff tomorrow morning and continues preparations while in Kenya.

Uganda is in group B alongside Tanzania, South Sudan and Zanzibar and will play group matches from Kakamega Stadium, starting with Tanzania on Sunday 26th November 2023 at 3:00pm.
