Good start for Rugby Cranes as they registered three wins on day one of Africa Rugby Sevens in South Africa,

The Uganda rugby national team, the Rugby cranes has starts the Africa Rugby Sevens tournament in high gear in their first fixtures played today as they defeated all their three opponents on day one at The Bosman stadium, Johannesburg.

Uganda emerged to 57- 0 victory over Mauritius in the first match of the day, before going in for their 33-17 win over Namibia which was the second on card as later on Senegal were also humiliated by the Cranes when they beaten 52-12 in one of big games of the tournament.

The two day Africa men’s seven rugby tournament is hosted by South Africa this from Friday 8th to Saturday 9th November 2019.

The tournament will also be used as the African qualifiers for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics games as the best team will qualify automatically and the second placed team will have to wait for the recharge tournament in June 2020.

The tournament is comprises of Zimbabwe, Mauritius, Namibia, Kenya, Uganda, Madagascar, Zambia, Tunisia, Senegal, Cote de Ivoire, Morocco, and Nigeria.

Cranes emerged third overall in last years tournament just behind Zimbabwe cheetahs and Kenya despite being champions in 2017.

These are the players for the Uganda Rugby Cranes traveled to South Africa:

Micheal Wokorach, Philip Wokorach, Pius Ogena, Issac Massa, Jan Minyan, Joseph Aredo, Aaron Ofoyawrath, Adrian Kasita, Kevin Kermundu, James Odong, Levis Owen, Lawrence Sebuliba.
