Kitara FC became the second promoted team to lose its manager not long after winning the FUFA Big League.
The team announced on Friday that head coach Sam Ssimbwa was leaving the club after careful decisions and considerations.
Ssimbwa now joins Sadiq Sempigi, who left Mbarara City FC after helping them gain promotion to the Startimes Uganda Premier League, as managers on the move.
“This was a difficult decision, but after careful decisions and considerations, we finally agreed to make a change,” a statement from Kitara President Deo Kasozi read
“We want to thank Sam Ssimbwa for everything he has done for Kitara football club and wish him the best in him future endeavours.
Ssimbwa took over at the club on January 30th, replacing Mark Twinamatsiko and the target was promotion back to the UPL.
The former KCCA tactician delivered promotion and the Big League title.
He managed to register eight wins, six draws and just one defeat in the 15 Big League games he took charge of.
And with Ssimbwa’s departure, Kitara will now embark on a search for a new manager before the start of the new season in the top flight.
The statement added: “Kitara will now seek a new head coach and the announcement is expected to be made before the end of the month of June.”
Wasswa Bbosa, John Luyinda and Edward Golola are some of the names that have dominated the talk as possible replacements.
