The Buganda Prime minister Owek Charles Peter Mayiga has cautioned Buganda chiefs in different parts of the Country to stand firm and fight against land grabbing and misuse of Buganda kingdom land which is becoming rampant in the country.
In his speech read by Buganda Antony General and minister for local government Owek Christopher Bwanika, Katikkiro has challenged Buganda chiefs to stay away from engaging in land grabbing issues but rather to stand and protect Buganda land from being grabbed and misused.
He has as well encouraged them to firmly protect Buganda’s land from whoever wants to misuse it and asked them to be very vigilant, and to work together with the central government on the same cause.
In his own words, the Buganda Antony General Owek Christopher Bwanika has Encouraged Buganda chiefs to use his law office as much as they can so that they can get the help they want, to fight against those who are misusing Buganda land and whoever may want to use such land.
The first deputy Ssekiboobo Owek. David Matovu Kato has revealed to the Anthony General how committed they are, to fight against encroachers on Buganda land. He has arged all leaders in different parts of Buganda to work together to protect Buganda land.
On behalf of the Headteachers of the schools who have contributed towards Luwalo Lwange, the headteacher for St. Mary’s Junior School Mukono Ntenjeru Agnes Namakula, has challenged school headteachers to teach baganda pupils and students Luganda language so that they grow up knowing their language and culture.
Among the schools which have attended and contributed towards the Luwalo Lwange are, St. Mary’s junior school Mukono Ntenjeru, St. Balikuddembe SS Kisoga, Mpunga primary school, Ellasto and Dora primary school among others, and St. Mary’s Junior School Mukono Ntenjeru has been the best contributor among the schools, with 2 million shillings contribution.
The sub counties that have attended and contributed towards Luwalo Lwange are Musaale Nagojje, Mutuba gumu Nakisunga, Mituba 7 Kawolo, and Ssabaddu Ntenjeru, which has been the best contributor among all the sub counties.
As usual, the best contributor is awarded with Kabaka Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II’s portrait, and the second is rewarded with the map of Buganda.
