SCHOOLS IN NSANGI CONTRIBUTE 18MILLIONS IN LUWALO LWANGE

Schools around Nsangi subcounty have on Tuesday 18 July 2023 contributed 18 million Uganda Shillings towards the Luwalo Lwange project as a way of supporting the Buganda Kingdom development.

Luwalo Lwange is a competitive system in Buganda where people around Buganda compete and contribute towards the kingdom through different projects, one of them being Luwalo Lwange, and in so doing, the highest contributor is awarded.

Speaking to the congregation in Bulange Mengo, on behalf of the Buganda Prime minister, the speaker of Buganda Cabinet Owek Luwaga Mugumbule has commended the Nsangi County chief Ssabagabo Wasswa Mathias for the great mobilization he has done, to enable such a big number of schools to respond towards the call and turned up.

He has appreciated the parents who have made it possible to support their children’s education saying, it will help to shape their future. “we were raised just as you are and grew up as children, so learn to listen to your parents’ advises so that you grew up and take up our offices.” He added.

The mayor for Kyengera town council Mathias Walukagga has also added his voice to the Speaker’s to commended Nsangi county chief for mobilizing schools towards this cause. However, he has pledged before the speaker that he is yet to mobilize politicians to come to Bulange and contribute towards the Luwalo Lwange project.

Ssabagabo Wasswa Mathias has reported that, as away of teaching pupils and students to love their culture and norms while still in school, they create different groups that train them in different culture and norms, that help them grow up loving their kingdom. Among the groups include Akaliba akendo, Nkobazambongo, to mention but a few.

One of the teachers who have led their pupils to this function, Ssentumbwe Sebuliba Tony, from Pamville junior school and Pamville international school, appealed to all schools to endeavor training their pupils and students  their culture, through responding to such cultural calls.

The schools that have attended this function and contributed towards the Luwalo Lwange project are, Pamville schools, Paramedical nursing school, Buddo junior school, Kings college Buddo, Al Mustafa Islamic college, Trinity college Nabbingo, Kyengera Muslimu primary school among others.

This function has also been attended by business people who have also contributed towards Luwalo Lwange, including Best ever buveera company, Haji and Haji supermarket, Kyotera traders, Sesaco, Lukomera traders among others, all from Nsangi county.

The best secondary school that has highly contributed is Kings college Buddo with 1.7million Uganda shillings and from primary schools is Buddo junior school with 1.5 million Uganda shillings.

They have been awarded with Kabaka’s portrait.
