The permanent Secretary from the Ministry of Education Ketty Lamaro cautioned schools to respect the schools selection process and register students who chose their schools.

Her message was delivered by the Assistant Commissioner private schools policy regulations at the ministry of education Ismael Mulindwa while representing her in opening the selection of S.1 students preparing to join secondary level at Lugogo show grounds.

In her message, Ketty noted that some headteachers don’t register the students who chose their schools and instead sell off the vacancies to rich parents which she said is unfair.

She expressed concern over teacher’s absenteeism in schools and cautioned headteachers to monitor their teachers. She added that government has a system that it uses to fight teacher’s absenteeism but some teachers still do it.
