In a significant development from the Uganda Sevens team camp, six players have been released from their month-long training camp that included a one week’s period spent in Nakuru, Kenya, where they had a solidarity performance camp.

The timing of their return aligns perfectly with the forthcoming Kyabazinga 7s, which are poised to crown the champions of the National 7s series 2023.

The six are now set to rejoin their respective clubs for club duties as the clubs gear up for the final circuit of the Nile Special 7s that is to take place at Bugembe Stadium, Jinja, on 2nd and 3rd September.

This recent development has left a group of 16 players still in the training camp, diligently preparing for the Africa Men’s 7s tournament scheduled for the 16th and 17th of this month in Harare, Zimbabwe.

The remaining squad members in camp will stay bound and can only watch the local competition from the sidelines.
