SOM INTER-PROJECT CHESS CHAMPIONSHIP ENTERED DAY THREE

The on-going Som inter-project  chess championship have entered day three at sports outreach resource centre,kiwawu, Mityana road. The competition which will come to an end tomorrow, Thursday, so far have been going well according the CEO of the Som chess academy, Robert Katende.

Players with highest points will be crowned champions in various categories.

Four players have five points who  include, Julius Ssali, Richard Kato, Samuel Kiyaga,Patricia Kawuma and Vanessa while 20 players with three points .

During tomorrow’s closing ceremony, there will be a guest of honour though yet to be confirmed, according to Katende.

This is the 16 edition and it’s only participated by qualified participants from Som chess academy program from Kampala projects of Kibuli, Makindye and Bwaise, Gulu, Jinja, Kagadi, Masaka, Rwanda and Kenya. 

No player is allowed to enter with a phone or headsets in the competition hall and whoever found, will be disqualified. Winners will be given trophies and medals.
