Speaker Among commends media for the support, as she announces readiness to start receiving delegates for the 27th CSPOC

Speaker Among has on Sunday December 31st commended the work and support of the fourth estate and she announced in  bridging the gap between the parliament and the public saying.

Speaker Anita Among has warmly welcomed delegates for the 27th Conference of Speakers and Presiding Officers (CSPOC) that is starting on 03rd to 06th January 2024.

While addressing the media this afternoon, Among said Uganda is well prepared to start receiving delegates for CSPOC.

“I want to sincerely thank all our friends from the fourth estate for their support in  bridging the gap between the parliament and the public.

“I want to report that we are well prepared to start receiving delegates for the 27th conference of the Commonwealth Speakers and Presiding officers to be held in Uganda from the 3rd to 6th of January 2024.

“The first batch of Speakers and Presiding Officers will jet into the country on the 01st of January, a few hours from now and all arrangements have been put in place to accord them the true Ugandan welcome,” Among said.

The rest of the presiding officers will arrive between the 2nd and the 3rd accordingly.

43 delegations have as of today, Sunday December 31st confirmed attendance and the Speakers of the Republic of South Sudan and the East African Legislative Assembly have accepted to attend as special guests as provided for in the standing rules of the conference.

“I want to urge all of us to accord our visitors the Ugandan hospitality and show them what makes us the pearl of Africa.

“I also want to encourage our citizens to take advantage of the business opportunities that come with the number of delegates expected in the country.”she added.

This conference is a testament of Uganda’s positioning at the global stage and our desire to relate with the rest of the world through mutual respect and shared interests.
