Jean Sseninde, the ex-women football launched the Sseninde women’s development cup in the press conference held at Hotel African, Kampala today Thursday 22nd August 2019.
The 4th edition of Sseninde women’s development cup will be held on Saturday 24th August 2019 at Kakyeka stadium Mbarara.
Jean Sseninde insisted on the tournament.
“The objective of this tournament is to create opportunities for all women in Uganda to play football and attaining their education. The tournament produced good players now are playing in the elite FUFA women league and National team”, Jean Sseninde said.
The tournament will be a one day tournament from 8am -5pm and the teams will be divided into two groups A and B and the best two qualify for the semi-finals and winner will play finals.
Eight (8) teams are expected to participate in the tournament , Kisoro young samba, Kira girls soccer academy, youth sport Uganda, Mbarara sports academy, St Mary’s vocational college and Kinondoni from Tanzania.
The winner will be a warded with trophies, equipment, certificates and medals. The tournament will honour the chief women’s FIFA SaraiBareman, head of women football CAF Safia Abdel Dayen, minister of youth and sports in Nigeria, Solomon Ddungi Dominica
