Ssingo too strong for Kyaggwe while Hooliganism marred Buwekula game

It was a which was highly dominated by visiting side Ssingo to win 1-0 over struggling Kyaggwe on Sunday 18 August 2024.

Midfielder Ibrahim Ssengooba who marked his outstanding performance with a match winner that came in the 71 minutes of the play at Mukono Bishops the home of Kyaggwe.

The goal happened to be result of beautiful play from Calvin Peter Emayu following him replacing Kenneth Ssebaduka 4 minutes before the goal time.

For Ssengooba it was an easy take to find the back of the net after picking up a rebound Inside the Penalty area from Emayu’s shot blocked by Kyaggwe goalkeeper Elton Mwidu.

The winner saw Ssingo completing the double over Kyaggwe having defeated them in first leg in Mityana 2-0.

With the result Ssingo reached the last 8 stage with 17 points from 7 games while there is more 3 games to mark the end of group stage leading Muganzirwazza group.

After the crucial with Ssingo tactician Simon Peter Mugerwa said “I am proud of our team, we did all upon our game plan and the result is secured now we are turning focus on next game which we must win also”

Winner scorer Ssengooba who was named star of the day also had his volume in front of the press “It has been a very tricky game but Allah has made the better team win, It has been a very competitive contest you can see injuries on both side”

This time round Muganzirwazza group had two games after Buwekula and Mawogola game didn’t reach the final whistle having regained misbehaviors that occurred in the first leg in Mubende.

Though in Buwekula the game didn’t stop this time round it was a very bad scene living Buwekula Technical director on Seek bay.

The other game was between Gonna and Kooki fighting for the bottom slot of the group and the game ended in square Joseph Odong scoring for Kooki to cancel Alex Kizza’s opener.

Despite Buwekula is with a game less on the log, they are still sit behind leader Ssingo with 12 points, Kyaggwe is Third Mawogola 4th, Kooki and Gomba are sits bottom.

The same day also saw another on form Side Kabula reaching 16 points with a win over Buvuma 2-1 as Edwin Aguma’s goal were added on an own goal of Samuel Nantajja while Derrick Ssemugooma consoled for Buvuma.

Kabula is leading Masengere group with 3 points advantage over Busujju who got held by Busiro 1-1 as Eddie Bulwanyi and Shakib Mayanja scoring for either sides.

In the same group on Saturday 17 August 2024 Ssese defeated Mawokota 1-0 at Lutoboka with a goal scored by Jordan Ariaka.

In Masengere Busujju is 3 points behind leader Kabula, Buvuma is 3rd with 7 points while Mawokota, Busiro and Ssese are all tied on 6 points.

In Bulange group Buddu got their campaign back on track with a narrow win over Butambala 1-0 thanks to Martin Nsubuga’s goal that help Buddu to reach second place in a group which led by Bululi.

Bululi is tallying 13 points following a successive draw that came in a game against Bulemeezi at Kakooge.

The game ended 2-2 with Bulemeezi continuing their struggles by throwing away the leading in the dying minutes of the game.

Bululi has to be grateful for Forward Robert Ssewanyana who rescued a point with a goal that took his goal tally to 5 goals as a joint top scorer of the campaign along with Kabula’s Irivai Mamul.

In another game of Bulange group Bugerere fought from a goal behind to rescue a point in a 1-1 draw against Kyadondo.

It was Henry Wamala’s goals that denied Kyadondo to walk off with maximum point with a goal scored by Marvin Praise Wambuga.

After 7 games Buddu is 2 points behind Bululi, Kyadondo is third on 10 points and Bugerere is 4th on 9 points while Butambala is at 7 points just two above bottom sitters Bulemeezi.
