FT: St. Lawrence 1-1 Uganda Martyrs

Ssematimba Titus cancelled out Sentongo Robert’s 5″ penalty in the 45″ for St. Lawrence to come from behind to draw 1-1 against Uganda Martyrs in the first leg of their Pepsi University Football League semi-final.

Visitors Uganda Martyrs took the lead in 5″ after goalkeeper Gitta Musa fouled Nakibinge John Ben with referee Musisi Henry awarding a penalty which Sentongo Robert converted.

St. Lawrence however pressed on and were rewarded at stroke of half time when Ssematimba dodged four defenders to send a scorching shot past goalkeeper Nalugoda Amir.

The second half saw more of the same pressing football but neither side was able to find the back of the other’s net.

Action continues on Friday when first time semi-finalists Uganda Christian University host Bugema University at Mukono at 3.30pm.
