St Noa defeats Kawempe as they captured another trophy to make it 3 trophy in hand at Elite Schools Championship. They have won Girls Basketball, Netball and they have just added on Girls football.
St Noas’ trophy win in girls football came as a result of defeating the category giants Kawempe Muslem 2-1 with Kabachulezi Marry and Kigongo Auch Angle drive them from behind from a goal down which was scored by Nakatto Rebecca immediately after the games restart from half time interval.
They went into a decider against Gaddafi and wins a goal with second half powerful free kick from Nakku Mastula. St Noa top the log in the round robin format after collecting 11 points in 5 games. Uganda Matry’s finished second with 10 points infront of Kawempe on 5 points and other participants Dynamic SS, Rines SS and Gaddafi.
Julius Ssenyondo said that “it has been a very good for preparations ahead coming tournaments, It a new team it is good for us to start on high note” “Though we still have a long way to go so that we can compete in more competitive comption we will have to add in some players with much maturity sense” St Noa has scored five goals from five different scorers and only Uganda Matry’s that managed to keep a clean sheet in goalles drew yesterday as Uganda Matry’s joining Rines which held St Noa in 1 all draw to become the second team to avoid a defeat.
In other games St Noa managed to defeat Dynamic SS 1-0 , Gaddafi 1-0 and Kawempe Muslem 2-1. In the tournament held at Old Kampala for three day, S.2 Student Sumaya Nalumu finished as top Scorer with 4 followed by Catherine Nagadya, Kayesu Joan and Nakato Rebecca all tied on 2 goals. The games shall continue with Boys football Semi finals, Third placed game and the final on Thursday.
