Forty teams from the Buganda Region played in the first round of the 50th edition of the Stanbic Uganda Cup matches held on Wednesday December 20th at various venues around the region.
The twenty matches played at different grounds where 20 teams progressed to the second preliminary round.
At the latter stage, ten matches will played to determine who makes it to the third preliminary round, where five will make it to the Round of 64 which kicks off the national tournament.
It should be noted that all matches in the aforementioned rounds are played at a knockout basis, where post-match penalties were held to decide the winners in the games ended in draws after 90 minutes.
The game between Simba FC and Free Stars FC that was played at Namulonge was abandoned.
While Kajjansi United FC and Kikyusa Ravens did not turn up for their games as Kyetume Nursing School arrived late for the game.
