Mbogo United 1-0 New Life Katereke
Mbogo United defeated Newlife Katereke to go one step to the main draw of the Stanbic Uganda Cup.
In a game played Kawempe Moslem SS Valley ground on Thursday 28th December 2023 Asaph Sseguujja scored in 26th minute after meeting the ball which Katereke’s backline failed to clear.
After going down New Life Katereke Coach Abby Kavuma reacted with substitutions minutes later by replacing Mukhutali Mukiibi who was down throughout the minutes.
Joseph Lwanga came on to settle the situation and his coming on signaled some positive changes.
New Life Katereke got on front feet by creating scoring opportunities through young star Shafiq Kaweesi who was lively through the game.
The game reached the half time break with Hosts still in advantage.
The Visitors returned to second stanza at a continuation of where they stopped at break time and Host just had to keep themselves on back feet.
With the game approaching it last 10 minutes Mbogo United were forced to a man down after AbdulRazak Kirumira Takuba was sent off by the referee.
The game ended with Mbogo United Winning the tie 1-0 after answering quantity questions asked by New Life Katereke.

“We won because we scored, but inside the game was allot of surprises to my team, at first they thought that they are facing young boys but their game indicated the maturity in the team we played, having started the game thinking that the young boys can’t much to the challenge it meant we started at a negative side that is why our players failed to play and spend the most time on referee”
