In the next few days Uganda’s football fratanity will see excitement with the commencement of the StarTimes Uganda Premier league season 2024/25 with eight games on match day one card.
KCCA FC will play URA in the league opener on Friday in the game that will entertain fans from Philip Omondi Stadium Lugogo while defending champions, SC Villa will kick off their title defense on Monday September 16 with a game against Mbarara City FC at home.
SC Villa is expected face stiff challenge from Vipers SC, KCCA FC, Kitara FC and URA who seem to be more prepared and organised to challenge the record champions who lost some of their last season’s key players like squad captain Kenneth Ssemakula, striker Umar Lutalo and Abbas Kyeyune as well as head coach Dusan Stojanovic who parted ways with the club last month, although they acquired some new players like Kafumbe joined from KCCA FC and Mbale Heroes defender Geoffrey Lubangakene.
