The state minister of social, gender and cultural development Hon. Peace Mutozo call upon equal opportunities while are going celebrating the rural international Women’s day to be held on Thursday 24th October 2019 at Soroti district, Araby Town in the Araby market.
“,I call upon equal opportunities and equal justices in the law because the Women do not have money pay lawyers and in court and even are admired right yo own land yet they do the same work with men “. Hon Mutozo noted.
The honorable minister while addressing the media at Media centre in Kampala also asserted that the celebrations will consists on how the Women will come out of the poor situation and how they can use the surrounding environment to uplifted from poverty.
” We are going to use this international celebration to empowers Women from the villages especially in the Soroti district and this the 10 times to celebrate this day and previously where in about 45 districts and now we managed to extend to all districts in Uganda. We are going to teach the Women how they can do simple works like making Liquid soap, candles and other things”. The theme is improvement of the Women standard of living.
The day started by UN agencies and so far Uganda has celebrated it for ten years as looking forward to develop Women in Uganda and got equal opportunities with Men.
However the Women are still affected by gender violence, forced marriage, trafficking, child marriages, rape and unfair justice in court. Lastly but not the list the ministry call upon all the women to go Soroti yo celebrate their day as they over all the problems that affect Women’s in the country.
